Sitting on the couch. Sindu is beside me watching Survivor on the TV. All our belongings are strewn about the apartment as we’ve justed moved out stuff back now that the floor work is complete.
We stayed in the guest suite while the work on our unit was being done. I really hated it there, the vibes were off. Like staying in a barebones AirBnB but without the benefit of being in a new city on vacation to make up for it. The first night we moved into the guest suite we didn’t even hang out there, we ate dinner and chilled in our empty home.
We did a pretty good job of getting out of there though. On Saturday morning we went and got brunch and did some local shopping. I bought a nice bottle of wine from Buvette Pacey, and we got some treats from Roselle.
In the afternoon I had a haircut with Anthony. He’s looking cut now that he’s further into his bodybuilding diet. I respect the discipline it requires, but tbh it also seems like and insane thing to do. He was noticeably less energetic than usual. Sharlini and Nish stopped by while Chris was getting a haircut in the area (not with Anthony…). I think Nish’s new favourite hobby is concussing himself. I wonder if we made a kid wear a helmet from the day they were born till they were a teenager if they’d be the smartest human being possible.
That night Sindu went to Jenna’s to watch the new season of that Jury Duty show, and I had Olivia and Kevin over for pizza, wine, and a movie. We watched Anaconda in the background while we chatted, and then we watched an episode of the Good Doctor (an insane program).
Sunday we went to the Pickering house with Melisa and just chilled the fuck out. Watched movies and sat on the couch all day long.
Yesterday I had that Connected Canadians tech mentoring thing. The idea is that I would help older people with their technology questions. How do I get files from my phone to my laptop, what’s the difference between Edge and Chrome, that sort of thing. It was really rewarding to help them, and I could see how grateful they were. I wonder if I’ll be the same way with whatever wave of technology comes next.
Today was just spent moving everything back to the apartment, and then I had to do some late work to get a submission in under the wire.
Not even gonna bother talking about work here because I don’t think I could elaborate beyond “it’s really busy” without violating my NDA.
In my personal life, Easter weekend is coming up and it’ll be nice to have an extra-long weekend. I am getting my summer tires put in on Friday, and aunty Jaci is having me, Sindu, and Melisa over for Easter dinner. I’ll try to get out on my bike also, weather permitting.
